Tevita Mailau of Tonga has been cited by Citing Commissioner Freek Burger (South Africa) for an alleged act of foul play contrary to Law 10.4(e).
The incident occurred during the Rugby World Cup 2015 Pool C match between Tonga and Namibia at Sandy Park, Exeter, on Tuesday.
Mailau's hearing will take place at 13:00 on Friday, October 2, at the offices of RWC 2015 official law firm Clifford Chance in London. The case will be heard by independent Judicial Officer Sheriff Kathrine Mackie (Scotland).
The player was offered an earlier hearing date and time but the team requested Friday afternoon in order to provide them and their legal advisors additional time to prepare.
Law 10.4 (e) covers offences related to dangerous tackling.
