Three-week ban for Kruis

Saracens lock George Kruis has been handed a three-week suspension for a dangerous tackle, meaning he will be available for the Six Nations opener.

Kruis, who pleaded guilty before a Rugby Football Union disciplinary hearing in London on Tuesday, committed the tip tackle against Gloucester last Friday.

He will miss Saturday’s Champions Cup clash with Munster and the home game with Clermont the following weekend as the European pool stage concludes.

The in-form second-rower Kruis can return to play on February 3, with England taking on Wales at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on Friday, February 6.
