Harlequins winger Ugo Monye has been ruled out for three months after picking up an injury in the win over London Irish at Twickenham.

Monye tweeted the bad news on Wednesday.

“Injuries are so frustrating. Pulled the tendon off the bone in my groin. So having a op at the end of the week to get it fixed. 3 months out!,” said Monye.

“Thanks for all your get well soon messages too. Always appreciated. Might get some other work done whilst I'm under the knife!”

The 31-year-old former England and Lions back has made 228 appearances for Quins, scoring 85 tries.

Harlequins are likely to turn to Ollie Lindsay-Hague as Monye's replacement, while Ross Chisholm and Charlie Walker are other options.
