It's that time of week where we put our heads on the chopping block with our predictions.
It's that time of week again where we put our heads on the chopping block and bring you this week's predictions.
This week sees the continuation of the much-vaunted festive derbies in the Pro12, while there are also some big Premiership match-ups.
That could make for some surprise results, and certainly throws up plenty opportunities to spend some of that Christmas cash. Whether you're sticking with the favourites or backing an outsider, Paddy Power is the place to put your bets on!
Let's get started.
Newcastle Falcons v London Wasps: Wasps were unlucky not to claim the scalp of Saints last week – and it was a game they can add to a growing list of near misses. Despite their inconsistency, they are favourites to take this one at 8/11 with Paddy Power. Falcons are notoriously try-shy this season, with just three Premiership five-pointers to their name. That means a punt on no home try-scorer at 7/5 is worth a look. For the visitors, Tom Varndell is 9/1 for the game's opening score. We don't see this being a high-scoring affair at all, with a narrow Wasps win the most likely outcome.
Prediction: Wasps by 3.
Leicester Tigers v Sale Sharks: Tigers by 12
Northampton Saints v Bath: Saints by 4
Worcester Warriors v Saracens: Saracens by 10
Harlequins v Exeter Chiefs: Harlequins by 7
Munster v Connacht: Rob Penney's men should have far too much for their provincial rivals on Friday, with Connacht struggling at the wrong end of the Pro12 table. That's reflected in Munster's 1/8 favourites tag, but a wedge on the hosts handicapped -11 pays out just below evens at 10/11. Likewise, the hosts to win by 11-20 points is enticing at 2/1. Last week's match-winner, Ronan O'Mahony sits at a fair 9/1 to bag the game's first try. We can't see anything beyond a comfortable home win, here, which is why we're tipping the hosts.
Prediction: Munster to win by around 14 points.
Treviso v Zebre: Treviso by 8 points
Leinster v Ulster: Leinster by 4 points
Racing-Métro vs Toulon: Racing need to show a great deal more if they are to push for the play-off spots and with Toulon entering Stade Yves du Manoir on the back of a resounding 43-10 win over Montpellier, the Paris side may struggle to keep pace. Jonny Wilkinson is included in the squad despite being a doubt earlier in the week and with much more cohesion in their XV than their new-look hosts, the +3 point start for Toulon looks good.
Prediction: Toulon by 5.
Stade Francais vs Perpignan: Stade Francais by 15
Montpellier vs Biarritz: Montpellier by 20
Clermont Auvergne vs Oyonnax: Clermont by 25
Bordeaux-Begles vs Brive: Bordeaux by 10
Grenoble vs Castres: Castres by 7
Bayonne vs Toulouse: Toulouse by 8
Racing Metro Paris vs Toulon: Toulon by 2
