It is that time of the week when we put our heads on the chopping block with Planet Rugby’s predictions.

After a big European weekend, the Premiership, PRO12 and Top 14 return to join Super Rugby on the schedule.

For rugby betting odds that include plenty of markets we head to Paddy Power. Let’s see what the best punts are.

Super Rugby

Highlanders v Brumbies

Two losses in a row surprised us all and it is clear this game is must-win for the Highlanders if they are to keep pace with the Chiefs. They are 1/3 favourites and 8/11 for the half-time/full-time bet, which we like the look of.The handicap line has been set at 7 points.

The Brumbies are missing real firepower out wide and the Highlanders could well make them pay in that area, with Ben Smith a decent shout to open the try account at 12/1. We also like the look of Patrick Osborne crossing so let’s get on him to score two or more tries at 9/2.

Jaguares v Kings

It could be a long night for the Kings in Buenos Aires as we fancy the Jaguares to make a statement this Saturday with a sizeable victory. The hosts should comfortably beat the 26 point handicap (10/11) and it might be worth backing a hefty winning margin such as 46-50 (13/1).

The Jaguares to win both halves, while only at 2/7, looks a sure thing and on the try-scoring market, let’s get on Santiago Cordero to go over twice (tbc) and Nicolás Sánchez to cross anytime (tbc). Agustín Creevy could also get on the back of some profitable driving mauls.

Other Super Rugby predictions:

Blues v Rebels: Rebels by 3
Reds v Cheetahs: Reds by 5
Lions v Hurricanes: Hurricanes by 2
Stormers v Waratahs: Stormers by 7

Premiership

Exeter v Bath

The big match in England comes from Sandy Park where it is a rematch of that Champions Cup quarter-final. Unsurprisingly Paddy Power can’t separate these two teams but with a weekend off to prepare while Wasps were in a tough semi-final, we like Exeter to win at odds of 10/11.

This is all about the battle for a home semi-final in the Premiership so a tight game is expected, meaning we’ll also back Exeter by 1-5.

Other Premiership predictions:

Sale v Gloucester: Sale by 2
Leicester v Worcester: Leicester by 15
Northampton v Bath: Northampton by 10
London Irish v Harlequins: Harlequins by 3
Saracens v Newcastle: Saracens by 8

PRO12

Ulster v Leinster

Fourth takes on first in the PRO12 on Saturday as Ulster look for a result that would strengthen their case for a play-off spot. They’re 8/13 favourites while the handicap is 4 points. We fancy them to get the job done on home soil and the half-time/full-time is our option.

On the try-scoring front we like the look of Luke Marshall while on the other side an in-form Ben Te’o is also a decent rugby bet to take.

Other PRO12 predictions:

Treviso v Connacht: Connacht by 10
Glasgow v Zebre: Glasgow by 35
Munster v Edinburgh: Munster by 5
Cardiff Blues v Ospreys: Ospreys by 3
Dragons v Scarlets: Scarlets by 5
