The big man is back. Pro D2 side Agen have re-signed former crowd favourite Rupeni Caucaunibuca ahead of next season.

After passing all of the club's fitness tests, the enigmatic winger is back at the side where he spent five years, scoring a remarkable 65 tries in 108 games.

Caucaunibuca's off-field issues are almost as famous as his remarkable talent, with the 34-year-old last appearing in Europe with Toulouse between 2010-2012.

The Fijian international featured for Northland in last year's ITM Cup, but is now back in France with the 'club of his heart'.

“I wanted to return to Agen in France because it's my club, the club of my heart with who I want to pull off one last challenge,” Caucaunibuca said at a press conference.

“I do not fear competition. The team plays very well and I want to show that a 34-year-old can still do beautiful things. I'll try to bring my experience,”

Rugby will be better off with the 5ft 10in (180cm), 120kg (18.9 stone) juggernaut back to his best.
