Castres fly-half Rémi Talès has been linked in the French press with a move to Racing Métro to replace Jonathan Sexton.

The 30-year-old France fly-half is reportedly a target for Racing coaches Laurent Travers and Laurent Labit, according to L'Equipe.

Both coaches worked with Talès at Castres as the club won the 2013 Top 14 title.

Talès, a regular for France, could allegedly earn €400,000 a year in Paris should he decide to leave Castres after four years since joining from La Rochelle.

Racing already have young South African number ten Johan Goosen on their books for next season, along with veteran Benjamin Dambielle, but will look to replace Sexton and possess a large budget available to do so.

Speaking of Sexton's departure, which was confirmed on Thursday, owner Jacky Lorenzetti expressed his regret at the decision.

“Jonny has decided to leave the club and, although it is disappointing, we accept it.”
