Pumas coach Jimmy Stonehouse could leave the Nespruit-based union after he received an offer to further his coaching career in Japan.
According to Beeld newspaper, Stonehouse is in negotiations with Toshiba Brave Lupus and has until next Friday to decide if he will accept an offer from the Top League club.
Stonehouse went to Japan earlier this month to visit the club and has confirmed that he has received an offer to coach there.
“It’s a good offer and I’m definitely considering it,” he said.
“But it would be a very tough decision. The Pumas have been very good to me these last few years.”
Toshiba Brave Lupus finished as runners up in last season’s Top League and have players like Springboks centre Frans Steyn, Japan flanker and captain Michael Leitch, former All Blacks utility back Richard Kahui and ex Wallabies wing Cooper Vuna in their current squad.
