Springbok back-line coach Mzwandile Stick believes head coach Allister Coetzee has picked a perfectly balanced squad for their incoming three-Test series against Ireland.
Stick lauded Coetzee's selections as he believes there is an incredible blend of experience, youth and form in his squad.
"To be honest I couldn't have asked for a more balanced squad with what we've got at the moment," he said.
"Sometimes you need the proper brains, guys who have got a lot of experience as you've mentioned JP (Pietersen… like Pat (Lambie) those guys that have been there before.
"Then also to always give guys who deserve the opportunity like Garth April someone who has played for the Sharks in Super Rugby and went to play in New Zealand against the best fly-halves in the world.
"He managed to play under those conditions and had a great tour. So for him to work under Elton Jantjies who's also one of the mature guys in our squad at the moment I think it's a great thing for the youngster.
"Also for our South African rugby, where we give credit to the guys that are doing very well for their franchises. Faf (de Klerk) is of those guys who is performing week in and week out.
"I think Allister has done a great thing by selecting the best guys in our country."
