Brumbies coach Jake White has given a clear indication that openside flank George Smith will start against the Cheetahs in their play-off on Sunday.
Smith, who was on the bench for the Canberra side in their regular-season defeat to the Force, is set to line up with Ben Mowen and Peter Kimlin.
“One hundred per cent,” White said on Tuesday when asked if Smith would start the fixture.
“For me now it's about picking a team that can win the competition.
“George has all that experience, has played in play-offs and won the competition before.
“Any bit of advantage we can get going into this knockout stage of the competition is going to be vital.”
One area of uncertainty remains over scrum-half and playmaker Nic White, who will undergo a fitness test closer to kick-off to see if he is able to start against the South African franchise.
“All things being equal he should be ready to go and if he's 90 per cent, look this is a play-off game and we've got to pick the best team,” White said.
