Skivington blow for Exiles

London Irish have been dealt a further blow in their battle at the bottom of the Premiership with the long-term loss of captain George Skivington.

Skivington injured his shoulder at the start of the season and unfortunately has failed to respond to conservative treatment, so after further consultations with the appropriate specialists, the decision has been made to operate on his shoulder.

His rehabilitation post-surgery is likely to take about four months.

Irish are yet to pick up a single point in the Premiership this season and face Northampton Saints on Saturday.
