Six months out for Van Zyl

The Bulls have suffered a significant setback with the news that scrum-half Piet van Zyl is set to miss approximately six months due to a knee injury.

Van Zyl, 25, scored two tries for his team in their 35-33 victory over the Lions at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday before having to leave the action on 35 minutes.

And according to the Bulls, his scan on Monday revealed the worst for both player and Super Rugby team as he has torn anterior cruciate knee ligaments.

The Bulls are currently on their bye, returning in Round 14 away to the Blues.
