Sithole: ‘Sharks must right wrongs of 2015’

Sharks back Sbura Sithole wants the squad to make up for a "very disappointing" 2015 Super Rugby season with a good run this year.

After reaching the semi-finals the previous year under Jake White the Sharks slumped to 11th in 2015, finishing fourth in the South African Conference.

“We were very disappointed with what happened last year. This season, we want to right our wrongs with this talented squad we have at the Sharks,” Sithole told

“In 2015, we had many new faces in the squad and it was a big learning curve, but we have no more excuses. We can’t play as individuals as we’ve learned to play as a team for an entire season.

“We got a great mix of experience and exciting players. We need to make sure we build good momentum in 2016.”

Despite the Sharks' shortcomings Sithole felt his form was good in the 2015 campaign – something which he hopes to build on.

“I felt that I had a good Super Rugby last season, so I want to come back even stronger this year,” Sithole added.

“My goals are to help the Sharks achieve success and achieve higher honours, but I can’t get ahead of myself. I need to ensure I play well week in and week out as I want consistency in my game. If I can achieve this, the rewards will come.”
