Sharks change five for Lions

The Sharks have made five changes to their starting lineup as they prepare to take on the Golden Lions in Durban on Saturday.

The Kwazulu-Natal side picked up their first win of the season last weekend against the EP Kings, but were not entirely convincing, while they take on a Lions team on a high after successive bonus point successes.

As a result Gary Gold has overhauled his backline, with a new-look centre partnership featuring Paul Jordaan and Andre Esterhuizen.

With Esterhuizen shifted from the wing, S'bura Sithole gets a start, while Michael Claassens comes in at scrum-half for his first Currie Cup start since returning from Europe.

In the pack Francois Kleinhans replaces Jean Deysel, with the final change seeing fit-again Dale Chadwick get the nod at loosehead in place of Juan Schoeman.

"Attacking rugby is the Lions’ DNA and we have to improve our defence," Gold told the Sharks website

"The talk this week has been about an immense improvement for this weekend against the Lions and we know we are going to have to pitch up physically against the Lions."
