Seymour wants ‘to put things right’

Sale openside flanker David Seymour has urged their supporters to stand by them as they look to bounce back against Saracens on Sunday.

On the back of a 50-3 loss at Allianz Park, Sale will hope for an improved showing when they host the European champions this weekend.

Seymour knows it’s a must that they put things right at the AJ Bell Stadium against a side that is at the top of their game at the moment.

“You have these big losses from time to time, and you have to play the week after so we have to put things right,” he told Sale‘s website.

“We have an opportunity to right our wrongs this weekend. It’s a big challenge but we’ll go through the video, work on what needs working on and we’ll go again.”

“This weekend is all about the performance, because Saracens are the best in Europe at the moment,” Seymour added.

“Playing against such a strong side, you get to see where you’re at, and we were a long way off at the weekend. We have an opportunity to take some momentum into the next block of Premiership fixtures.”

Seymour also had a message for the Sharks’ fans after a dismal run that has seen the club lose five successive games in all competitions.

“We’re doing everything we can to get things back on track,” he said.

“Playing at home makes a massive difference, and the crowd this year has been really vocal which is great for us – from the warm up, to running out and then on to the final whistle.

“We’re not happy with this form and I’m certain they’re not either, but everyone here is working their socks off to turn it around. Their support means everything to us.”
