Fiji’s Rupeni Caucaunibuca, who on Thursday ended his eight-year stay in France, wants to play Sevens in Sri Lanka, reports claimed.
Fiji wing Rupeni Caucaunibuca, who has ended his eight-year spell in France, wants to play Sevens in Sri Lanka, reports claimed on Thursday.
The 34-year-old was released from his contract at second division Agen. Their president Alain Tingaud said the winger has his sights set on becoming a sevens player ahead of the 2016 Olympics where rugby will make its debut.
“He wants to test himself in sevens, a style of rugby which is growing significantly in view of the Olympic Games,” he told newspaper Sud Ouest.
Caucaunibuca’s 14-year career has seen him play six years at Agen and two with Toulouse, star at the 2003 Rugby World Cup in Australia and he was also twice the top try-scorer in the Top 14.
