Edinburgh scrum-half Sean Kennedy has been ruled out for the remainder of the PRO12 season due to a shoulder injury, the Scottish club has confirmed.
The 23-year-old, who represented Scotland U20 in the 2011 Junior World Championship, will now recover and hopes to return for the start of 2015/16.
"Sean underwent surgery yesterday for an ongoing shoulder complaint and will be out of rugby for four to six months," read a club statement.
"He is under the care of consultants at Spire Murrayfield Hospital and the Edinburgh Rugby medical team.
"Everyone at Edinburgh Rugby wishes Sean well with his recovery."
