Season over for injured Bardoul

The Chiefs' second-row stocks have been further depleted after Johan Bardoul was ruled out for the rest of the season because of a knee injury.

Bardoul, who had started at lock due to the absence of Brodie Retallick, Matt Symons and Michael Allardice, came off in the 34-20 victory over the Bulls.

According to 3 News, he is set to be sidelined for eight weeks after tearing the medial ligament in his right knee, meaning his Super Rugby season is over.

One positive for Chiefs head coach Dave Rennie, however, is the expected return to action of All Black Retallick for their game against the Highlanders.
