Scotland centre Richie Vernon has revealed that his coach Vern Cotter is using the words of legendary football coach Alex Ferguson to inspire the team ahead of Sunday's quarter-final with Australia.
Vernon said Cotter has shown the squad a speech by Ferguson to motivate them ahead of their showdown at Twickenham.
"Sir Alex has won a few trophies and is a very good man to listen to," explained Vernon.
"We watched a video of one of his speeches from a conference he did in Glasgow and part of it was him giving advice on how to play in a final.
"The major part that stuck was to play the game not the occasion and that will be a big focus for us against Australia.
"That’s so important as we can’t get too carried away just because it’s the World Cup quarter-finals."
