Scotland to appeal duo’s suspensions

Scotland have confirmed on social media that they will be appealing the three-week suspensions handed to Jonny Gray and Ross Ford on Tuesday.

The decisions meant the forward duo would miss the remainder of the World Cup, starting with this weekend's quarter-final against Australia.

Hooker Ford and lock Gray were slapped with their bans after being found guilty of tackling Samoa's Jack Lam in an illegal manner at a ruck.

The three-week bans caused outrage from many rugby followers and it comes as no surprise that the Scottish Rugby Union released this statement.

"Scottish Rugby can confirm it will appeal against the suspensions given to Ross Ford and Jonny Gray following the RWC match v Samoa," it read.
