The Scarlets kept alive their slim hopes of making the RaboDirect PRO12 play-offs after battling past Edinburgh 25-21 at Parc y Scarlets.
Coming into the match in sixth and eighth respectively this PRO12 clash it always looked like being a closely run affair and it was all action from the fourth minute as Nick De Luca crashed over out wide for the visitors.
Carl Bezuidenhout slotted the conversion from the touchline and he added a penalty won by the forwards in the twelfth minute to take Edinburgh into a 10-0 lead.
The hosts took a while to get going but had turned the match on its head by half-time.
Fly-half Aled Thomas got the scoreboard ticking over with two penalties before Jordan Williams made his mark from full-back. The first of his two scores came courtesy of a fine break from scrum half Gareth Davies. The ball was quickly recycled and Williams was able to take advantage of the stretched defence, and his second saw him scythe through the Scots as he came back on the inside running a fine angle.
Just the one of his scores was converted by Thomas leaving it 18-13 to the Welsh side at the break. The second-half saw Edinburgh soon tie it up at 18 apiece as Tom Brown scored following a good passing move.
The next score was crucial and it came courtesy of Scarlets centre Adam Warren. Warren's try was converted leaving Edinburgh trailing by seven.
They were able to cut it to four points courtesy of a Jack Cuthbert penalty but they couldn't complete the comeback and fell to a 25-21 defeat.
