Scarlets grab bonus-point win

Editor

Scarlets claimed a 34-10 bonus-point victory over Ulster at Parc y Scarlets on Saturday to keep them in touch with high-flying Leinster.

This triumph puts them three points behind the Conference leaders but they had to wait to get the ball rolling in the late fixture in Llanelli.

Ulster led early thanks to a Stuart McCloskey try that John Cooney converted, with a Dan Jones penalty goal making it 7-3 at the break.

And after the resumption it was all Scarlets as Ioan Nicholas, Ryan Conbeer, Paul Asquith and Tadhg Beirne all went over for the hosts.

Defeat leaves Ulster fourth in this Conference, well off the pace of Leinster and Scarlets, with Edinburgh also five points ahead of them.
