Scarlets moved to the top of the PRO12 table after securing a hard-fought 22-20 victory over Treviso at Stadio Monigo on Saturday.
A brace of tries from Morgan Allen helped pave the way to victory for Scarlets against their hosts who were competitive throughout.
Jayden Hayward's early penalty attempt hit the post for Treviso but he provided the assist and added the conversion as his side crossed for the game's first try.
Hayward broke through midfield and fed Sam Christie, who had the pace to finish the move.
However it didn't take long for the visitors to find a response, and after ten minutes the scores were level.
Allen used all his strength to carry Treviso defenders with him over the line and Aled Thomas added the conversion.
It remained that way until just under 15 minutes from half-time, when Scarlets added a second try to lead for the first time.
Following patient build-up, DTH van der Merwe showed plenty of determination to get over, though Thomas pushed his conversion attempt wide.
The hosts were able to dominate the minutes that followed and capitalised on the territory with a penalty goal from Hayward which narrowed the deficit to just two points.
Treviso's dominance of territory continued in the minutes following the restart and they saw a try ruled out for a forward pass.
Scarlets were eventually able to push play to the opposite end of the field, and they stretched their advantage to nine points when Allen grabbed his second try and Thomas hammered over the conversion.
But the Welsh side were unable to shake off Treviso, who narrowed the arrears when Edoardo Gori snapped up a loose ball to score.
Hayward was wide with the conversion, and crucially he was again off target as Christie crashed over for his second to give the hosts a 20-19 lead.
And it laid the platform for Steven Shingler to hammer over a penalty goal four minutes from full-time to steal a narrow victory.
