Scarlets head coach Wayne Pivac will have a decimated squad to choose from for Saturday’s PRO12 clash with Zebre, as eighteen players are absent.
Wales duo Rhys Priestland and Scott Williams are two of eight players named in Warren Gatland’s squad for the November internationals while Pivac explained that ten of his team are on the treatment table, which includes second-row Richard Kelly after he broke his arm against Leicester last week.
“We’re not going to be making excuses because of personnel,” coach Pivac told BBC Sport as he assures supporters they will not let it affect them.
“We’re working through a mixture of players to get a squad together.
“It’s a great opportunity for other young players coming through. Expect to see some new faces.”
