Scarlets have been dealt an injury blow with the news that Morgan Allen has been ruled out for up to four months.
The number eight has undergone surgery to a ruptured bicep, sustained in training in the week leading up to the opening round of the Pro12 season and is likely to be sidelined for up to 16 weeks.
Allen, the son of former Wales second row Andy Allen, moved to the Scarlets from the Ospreys earlier this year.
Other injury concerns for the Welsh region include scrum-half Rhodri Williams, who suffered a blow to the head in Saturday's victory over Glasgow Warriors.
He has been ruled out of the opening home game of the season and will follow return to play protocols.
Meanwhile, top try-scoring winger Harry Robinson underwent surgery to a significant neck injury at the end of the last season and is on the road to recovery while following his rehabilitation programme. Robinson is expected to make a return in October
