Fresh from dishing out a record defeat to Leicester Tigers last weekend, Bath’s Peter Stringer is buzzing ahead of Northampton.
Bath will hope to take their good form from last weekend’s contest into Saturday at Franklin’s Gardens.
Imperious in the 45-0 win over the Tigers, Stringer revealed that producing such a quality performance meant that Bath would be full of confidence this weekend.
Tactical analysis has been key so far for Bath, with Stringer going over their start to the season ahead of facing the champions.
“That was a great win (against Leicester) and it gives the guys that confidence to perform at this level,” he said.
“We know that we can now go there (Franklin’s Gardens) with no fear.
“Of course we respect Northampton, they are the champions of England with a great side and we will do our analysis but it’s about us.
“It’s about putting our own game plan into place, focusing on what we have practiced and if we execute it properly then we are going to be in with a great shout of winning any game.
“It’s credit to the coaches that we have produced different game plans, the way we played against Sale was very different to the running open game we planned against Leicester.
“And for our young guys, to be playing the Leicesters and Northamptons week in week out, it’s great experience.
“When those tight games come along we want to be able to deal with that pressure.”
