Saints’ momentum excites North

Northampton Saints winger George North is excited by the way his side is building momentum after four-straight wins.

The Wales wing was full of praise for the first half display in the 28-21 defeat of Castres, as well as the way the men in black, green and gold regrouped having allowed their visitors back into the game with a slow start after the break.

“I think the first 40 minutes showed where we are at the minute and how we want to play – that front-foot dynamic, high tempo rugby,” North told the Northampton Saints website.

“Second half we came off the pace a bit and with a team like Castres you can’t do that. With the quality of side they have, they’ll come back and we saw that. Giving them penalties in front of the posts is never going to make it any easier.

“We got back into it though and dogged that win out in the end. We had a tough few weeks, but we’ve really dug in and come together and that’s four on the bounce now.

“We’re looking to keep that momentum going.”
