Saints back-row duo re-sign

Northampton have revealed that back-row forwards Teimana Harrison and Jonathan Fisher have signed contract extensions at Franklin's Gardens.

Having joined the Academy in 2011, Kiwi-born and English-qualified Harrison made his debut as a 19-year-old against Wasps later that season.

After starts in last season's European Challenge Cup quarter-final and LV= Cup semi-final, the current season has seen a further increase in Harrison's first-team responsibilities and the tenacious openside flanker has now racked up 22 appearances in the black, green and gold.

Fisher meanwhile headed for Franklin's Gardens in mid 2014, producing a string of outstanding performances in pre-season to secure a full-time contract with the club.

That faith was quickly repaid when the Saxons back rower carried his excellent form into the start of the Aviva Premiership season – scoring on debut against Gloucester in September. It was a month in which the 25-year-old was also voted Steffans Player of the Month by the club's supporters.

"We're delighted that both Teimana and Jon will be staying at the Gardens," said a pleased director of rugby, Jim Mallinder.

"Both players have played important roles in their time at the club and we're confident that they have more to give, both during the run in and for the coming years."
