The Blues have announced that loose forward Peter Saili has left the Super Rugby team to take up a contract in France later this month.
The Blues and New Zealand Rugby have reached agreement with Saili to terminate his employment with immediate effect.
The 27-year-old played 71 games for the Blues since his debut in 2009 but was last year investigated for an alleged assault in June.
NZRU general manager of rugby Neil Sorensen said all three parties were satisfied with the outcome although details of the contract severance were confidential to the parties involved.
Blues chief executive Michael Redman said the side were considering their options for a replacement player.
