Munster lock Donnacha Ryan has been named in Ireland's training squad to prepare for Saturday's clash with England at Twickenham.

Munster lock Donnacha Ryan has been named in Ireland coach Joe Schmidt's 33-man training squad to prepare for Saturday's clash with England at Twickenham.

It will be Ryan's first involvement in this year's Six Nations. He returned to action for Munster in Saturday's 36-8 home PRO12 victory over Zebre, having fully recovered from knee surgery sustained last December.

Unbeaten Ireland face England chasing their first Triple Crown since winning the 2009 Grand Slam.

Iain Henderson, Mike McCarthy and Ryan will compete for a spot amongst the replacements as cover for the starting second row pair of captain Paul O'Connell and Devin Toner.
