Russell an injury worry for Scotland

Scotland will be sweating over the fitness of fly-half Finn Russell after he was helped from the field against USA on Sunday with an ankle injury.

The playmaker left the action on the hour mark at Elland Road in Leeds after rolling his right ankle in a pool fixture that Scotland went on to win 39-16.

Duncan Weir was his replacement and scored their fifth and final try of the game, but the Scots will be eager to have their first-choice number ten back for next Saturday's pivotal group showdown against South Africa at St James' Park.

Russell is set to have a scan on Monday which should give a clearer indication of the problem and whether he will be able to feature against the Springboks.
