Romania captain Mihai Macovei has been cited for a dangerous tackle in Wednesday's win over Canada.

Macovei was cited by independent Citing Commissioner Yves Thieffine (France) for an alleged act of foul play contrary to Law 10.4(e) (dangerous tackling) during the Rugby World Cup 2015 Pool D match in Leicester.

The hearing will take place at 17:00 on 8 October at the offices of RWC 2015 official law firm Clifford Chance in London.

The case will be heard by independent Judicial Officer Simon Thomas (Wales).

Macovei scored two tries to help his side pull off an impressive comeback from 15-0 down, ending an eight-game losing streak at the Rugby World Cup with their 17-15 win.
