Waratahs prop Benn Robinson is out of the international wilderness after being called up to train with the Wallabies.

The 30-year-old has been left out of Ewen McKenzie's squads all year, missing both the June Tests against France, and the start of the Rugby Championship.

However, with James Slipper still recovering from neck and shoulder soreness after the weekend's win over South Africa, Robinson has been called up as cover, although officially he is just a training member rather than part of the Australia squad.

The Wallabies will need their props to front up this week, with a visit of Argentina next up, but Robinson still finds himself behind Pek Cowan in the pecking order if Slipper were to have to pull out.

Robinson is not the only person training with the Wallabies squad this week, scrum-half Will Genia is also involved as he recovers from ankle surgery, while hooker Josh Mann-Rea is there having sat on the bench for the win in Perth.
