Saracens have announced that Stormers utility forward Michael Rhodes will join them at the beginning of the 2015/16 season.

Sarries' director of rugby Mark McCall is delighted that Rhodes has opted to join his club.

“Michael was one of the stand-out performers for the Stormers and Western Province last year," he told Saracens' official website.

"He’s a powerful runner with the ball in hand and he’s an imposing presence at the set-piece.

“The modern game demands that a player possesses a wide range of skills; and Michael certainly does.”

“We look forward to him joining the club in July.”

Rhodes has appeared for the Stormers at both flanker and second-row this season and the Cape Town-based side are currently top of the Super Rugby table.

The 27-year-old joined the Stormers from the Lions in 2013 and also represented the Sharks at Currie Cup level prior to that.
