Brodie Retallick is in line for more recognition after being nominated for two New Zealand Rugby Awards including Player of the Year.

The Chiefs second row was named World Rugby Player of the Year after Saturday’s win over Wales and is one of three players nominated for the Kelvin R Tremain Memorial Player of the Year award.

He faces competition from All Black skipper Richie McCaw and scrum-half Aaron Smith for that award, while Retallick has also earned a nomination for the Super Rugby Player of the Year.

Jerome Kaino of the Blues and Crusaders winger Nemani Nadolo are the other two players in contention for that award, while Steve Hansen and the All Blacks are up for Coach and Team of the Year respectively.

The awards ceremony will be held in Auckland next month.
