Reds boss Richard Graham expects the franchise to see the best of Karmichael Hunt in his second season of Super Rugby.
Hunt's first year back in rugby union was disrupted by off-field issues and injury.
The former NRL and AFL star never quite hit the heights expected of him during his first year with the 2011 Super Rugby champions.
However, Graham now believes that with extra time under his belt in the National Rugby Championship (NRC) in Australia, that Hunt will find his best form.
Hunt had previously been a success in France with Biarritz Olympique before he returned to Australia and switched codes.
"He just needed game-time," Graham told AAP.
"No one's ever doubted the quality of footballer (he is), but changing codes and particularly coming from AFL after five years, there was always going to be a transition.
"He certainly approached it well in pre-season [last year] and then there was the incident.
"But I think the NRC has given him a level of confidence and a better understanding and feel for the game.
"I think everyone here has dealt with him and understands that he's very keen to do the best in anything he does.
"His approach over the past couple of days has been excellent."
