Australian under-20s fullback Jack Maddocks has signed a two-year deal with the Melbourne Rebels in the Super Rugby.
Melbourne Rebels have secured the signature of talented youngster Maddocks after the full-back turned his back on cricket in a bid to play Super Rugby.
Maddocks is on a cricket scholarship at Sydney University and plays first grade as a batsman, but he played all five games at fullback for Australia in the recent World Rugby U20 Championship.
The 19-year-old Sydney product, who was the only Australian player to play every minute of the World Cup campaign, has signed with the Rebels for two years.
"To be able to play with and against the top players in the world is a challenge I'm really looking forward to," Maddocks said.
