Chiliboy Ralepelle has left Toulouse by mutual agreement terminating his contract with the Top 14 club to return to South Africa.
The former Springbok hooker has not featured for Toulouse since last February when he tore his cruciate ligaments but he is also under the shadow of a doping ban.
Ralepelle tested positive for an anabolic steroid in June, but his case has caused a lot of problems, with Toulouse having heard nothing from the anti-doping authorities for the first few months after the test.
With Ralepelle injured it had little effect on his availability, but now an agreement has been reached between the club and the player to terminate his contract.
According to the Midi Olympique, Ralepelle said his goodbyes to his teammates last week and is now awaiting a disciplinary hearing which could take place in March.
Ralepelle had previously failed a test, along with Bjorn Basson, in 2010, and could face a long ban if found guilty.
The former Bulls hooker played 15 times for Toulouse in his two years with the club, making eight starts.
