Wales centre Jamie Roberts could be set for an early exit from his time with Racing Métro ahead of next season, according to reports.
WalesOnline say that the Top 14 club will release Roberts at the end of the current campaign, citing 'financial constraints', along with the fact that Roberts will be away for the first three months of next season due to the Rugby World Cup.
The 28-year-old has been a solid if not spectacular performer for his club since making the move from Cardiff Blues, although he has impressed in the Champions Cup this season.
Injuries as well have hindered his progress at the French side since the British and Irish Lion's arrival in 2013.
Cardiff Blues reportedly have a first option on Roberts should he returned as expected to Wales and sign one of the WRU's dual contracts.
