Western Force scrum-half Ian Prior has been cited for making a dangerous tackle on Chiefs wing Tim Nanai-Williams at Waikato Stadium on Friday.

Prior received a red card for foul play during the Super Rugby match and is alleged to have contravened Law 10.4 (j). The incident occurred in the 28th minute of the match, which the Chiefs won 35-27.

The case is to be considered in the first instance by SANZAR Duty Judicial Officer Nigel Hampton QC.

All SANZAR disciplinary matters are in the first instance referred to a Duty Judicial Officer hearing to provide the option of expediting the judicial process.

For a matter to be dispensed with at this hearing, the person appearing must plead guilty and accept the penalty offered by the DJO.
