Waikato coach Johnny Walters has made three changes to his starting line-up for Friday's clash with Wellington at Waikato Stadium.
A shoulder injury sees captain Jackson Willison miss out, and he is replaced at inside centre by Sam Christie, with Wharenui Hawera filling in at fly-half.
The captaincy is passed to loosehead Toby Smith, with full-back Trent Renata named as vice-captain.
The only other alterations to the side that went down 37-25 to Counties Manukau see Zak Hohneck replace Jono Armstrong at openside flanker, and Semisi Masirewa start on the left wing.
Wellington meanwhile have named a largely unchanged side from the one that overcame Canterbury 25-19 on Saturday.
The sole change comes as loosehead Reggie Goodes replaces John Schwalger in the pack.
On the bench, Faifili Levave is set to make his first appearance in several weeks, having recovered from a quad injury.
