Canterbury have named All Black duo Tom Taylor and Colin Slade in their starting line-up for Sunday’s ITM Cup clash with Taranaki in New Plymouth.

They are two of eight changes made to the XV by head coach Scott Robertson to his line-up that faced and went down to Tasman last weekend.

Alex Hodgman returns to the number one jersey and he’ll pack down alongside Ben Funnell and Nepo Laulala. The other change in the forwards is at lock where Scott Barrett has returned from his shoulder injury to pair up with Dominic Bird.

Taylor and Slade will play at fly-half and full-back respectively while wingers Johnny McNicholl and Patrick Osborne are both returning from injury, as is Jack Goodhue who will slot in at centre.

The reserve bench also sees the return from injury of Tom Sanders and Milford Keresoma.
