Round Eight of the World Rugby Sevens Series sees Singapore return to the circuit, playing host to a pivotal tournament this weekend.

Fiji currently top the overall standings on 128 points after winning in Hong Kong, with New Zealand (123) and South Africa (122) chasing hard.

Behind that trio Australia sit on 105 while USA are seventeen points adrift of them after suffering successive Cup quarter-final defeats.

Fiji are the holders of the Singapore tournament after lifting the trophy back in 2006 and they know another title would be a huge boost to their Series hopes. They are drawn alongside England, Samoa and Portugal and will be looking to avoid any near slip-ups on day one, à la Hong Kong.

Their closest challengers, New Zealand, will face off with USA, France and Canada on Saturday and enter this tournament without the likes of Tim Mikkelson, Scott Curry and the rested DJ Forbes. That means Liam Messam, who played in Singapore 2005, captains their squad.

Pool C sees South Africa face an improving Kenya, Scotland and Russia while Australia, Wales, Argentina and Kenya complete Pool D.

Following this tournament, there will be a month's break ahead of the penultimate leg, in Paris, before London rounds out 2015/16's Series.

Singapore Sevens:

Pool A: Fiji, England, Samoa, Portugal
Pool B: New Zealand, USA, France, Canada
Pool C: South Africa, Kenya, Scotland, Russia
Pool D: Australia, Wales, Argentina, Japan
