Preview: Sale v Clermont

Despite having no hope of qualifying for the Champions Cup knockout stages, Sale have named their strongest side for the visit of Clermont on Saturday.

On the back of an impressive home victory over Northampton in the Premiership, the Sharks enter full of confidence, with Danny Cipriani hoping to impress before England name their Six Nations squad next week.

He lines up alongside Chris Cusiter while there is a return to the line-up for David Seymour, who rotates with Magnus Lund in the openside jersey.

The starting backline is unchanged from last week but there is a tweak at loosehead prop where Ross Harrison comes in for Eifion Lewis-Roberts.

Meanwhile, Clermont have freshened up their side from last week’s win over Brive in the Top 14 as Nick Abendanon, Noa Nakaitaci, Aur
