Toulon can continue their recent revival and edge closer to the top of the table with a win away at Brive on Saturday.
After their disastrous start to the campaign, in which they picked up a solitary point from their first two games, Toulon have since managed a success on the road at Stade Français, followed by a bonus-point win over La Rochelle.
Brive are just a point further back though, having seen off Stade Français and Agen at home while also just missing out on a win at La Rochelle.
As ever with Brive home games, this will probably come down to a set-piece battle and the end of the World Cup pool stages should help the hosts in that regard.
Karlen Asieshvili and Dominiko Waqaniburotu have returned from the tournament, while Toulon also welcome back Georgian duo Konstantin Mikautadze and Mamuka Gorgodze and USA star Samu Manoa.
The latter will be particularly worth watching, having been so impressive for Georgia but struggling to impose himself at Toulon.
Duane Vermeulen is still to arrive, although Paul O'Connell won't be lining up for his new club just yet, so this is the opportunity for Gorgodze to lay down a marker.
Between the inspirational Georgian, Steffon Armitage and Juan Smith, not to mention Gerhard Vosloo, Bernard Laporte has plenty of options in his back row.
Inexperience elsewhere is more problematic, but as of next week he'll have a number of losing quarter-finalists back and Toulon look to have done enough during the World Cup period.
A second win on the road and they'll be right back in contention for a top two finish, but Brive won't be easy to beat.
