The Blue Bulls play host to the Griquas in the final match of the round robin stage of this year’s Currie Cup with a semi-final spot on the line for the hosts.
Frans Ludeke’s side go into the final match ahead of the play-offs with a two-point lead over the fifth placed Cheetahs, who face the Lions earlier on Saturday.
Should the Cheetahs leave Ellis Park with fewer than two league points; the Blue Bulls will know before kick-off that their place in the last four is secured.
However, a Cheetahs victory means the Bulls will need to beat the Griquas at Loftus Versfeld in order to ensure they make the play-offs.
A victory for Griquas, however unlikely that may be, will move them up to sixth place should the Pumas fall short against the EP Kings on Friday.
Ludeke has recalled Springboks Bjorn Basson (for Sampie Mastriet) and Piet van Zyl to his side, while Junior Bok William Small-Smith starts while JJ Engelbrecht remains unavailable through his Springbok commitments.
