Waratahs hooker Tatafu Polota-Nau has been given extra time to recover from his latest concussion setback.
Polota-Nau, who has had several concussion injuries in recent years, has been sidelined since suffering a head knock against the Brumbies in Round 12.
The 29-year-old Wallaby has received an extra three weeks off which means he will miss the defending champions' clash against the Crusaders in Sydney on Saturday as well as away matches against the the Lions and Cheetahs.
"There is no point in taking him to South Africa and having doubts over him," Waratahs coach Michael Cheika told AAP.
"We'll let him have a few week off and get sorted out and he can start again when we come back from South Africa."
Polota-Nau also spent some time on the sidelines earlier this season due to another head knock and he is now set to return in the last league match against the Reds in Sydney on June 13.
