Players deliver pizza to ‘Canes fans

Hurricanes supporters were handed a warm treat last night as they queued up for Super Rugby final tickets, with players bringing out refreshments.

Fans stood waiting for up to fifteen hours outside Te Papa box office for the coveted last tickets for the home clash with the Highlanders on Saturday.

This will be the first all-New Zealand final since 2006 when the Hurricanes lost out to the Crusaders, with excitement building in the capital city this week.

And it was pleasing to see the Hurricanes management acknowledging their supporters' efforts in the cold temperatures, as hooker Motu Matu'u, lock Mark Abbott and flank Callum Gibbons came out to see some of the 850 fans in the queue last night, armed with boxes of pizza and cups of hot chocolate.

Westpac Stadium in Wellington will have all 36,000 seats filled on Saturday.
