Picamoles out of Six Nations opener

Louis Picamoles will miss France’s opening game of the Six Nations against Scotland because of a thigh injury.

The Toulouse number eight suffered the injury during Sunday’s loss to Bath, coming off with 15 minutes left in the game.

He had already been ruled out of this weekend’s crucial game with Montpellier, but it is now being reported that he will miss the opening game of the Championship against Scotland in Paris.

Picamoles hasn’t featured for les Bleus since June, having missed the November Tests with a lung infection.

A replacement in the squad, which will meet up next week in Canet-en-Roussillon, will be named tomorrow, with Racing-M
