Northampton number eight Louis Picamoles is determined to win his new club some silverware as he prepares for his debut season at Saints.

Picamoles, who joined Franklin's Gardens from Toulouse in the off-season, has won 54 caps for France during his impressive Test career.

But now after a fresh start, the strong back-row is ready for the challenge that awaits in both Premiership and Champions Cup competitions.

"I want to progress with team and I want to take pleasure from playing with the other players," said Picamoles when speaking to Saints TV.

"I want to help the team be the best and I hope we can win trophies."

The number eight has been impressed by what he has seen thus far, not just from the Saints players but also in the area from their fans.

"I see a lot of energy around the Saints and I like that because I think it's important for the players to see lots of fans come to the stadium to support the team," he said before addressing what is come in their Champions Cup pool games against Castres, Montpellier and Leinster.

"It's a good pool. It's a big pool but I think we can do something because I know Castres and Montpellier. Sure, it's a strong pool but we have a good squad and we hope to impress in the Champions Cup."
